THE GROWLOC JOURNEY
From Ideation to Innovation
The inspiration for Growloc arose from a common challenge identified while establishing the FIED IIM Kashipur incubation center – the information and data gap plaguing the AgriTech sector. Witnessing the potential of innovative methods like hydroponics and precision farming, Growloc's founders, Shanu Kumar and Sanket Jiwane, embarked on their mission to bridge this gap in November 2021. Their initial conversations with stakeholders highlighted the significance of localization and quality standardization. Recognizing the impact of farming practices on a crop's nutritional value, they assembled a team of experienced professionals, professors, entrepreneurs, and students to tackle the problem of data asymmetry. Growloc's journey has been one of self-reliance and perseverance. Bootstrapping for two years, they secured grants to fuel product development while generating revenue. They have achieved several milestones, including:
